Gynaecology is a comprehensive branch of medicine that focuses on the health and treatment of the female reproductive system.

At Life Clinic our particular areas of gyneacological expertise are in:

  1. Reproductive health – this is monitoring and maintenance the health of the female reproductive system, including the ovaries, uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, and vagina.
  2. Pregnancy and childbirth: we provide care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, including prenatal care, monitoring fetal development, and managing any complications that may arise.
  3. Menstrual health: we diagnose and treat of a variety of menstrual disorders, such as irregular or heavy periods, painful cramps, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
  4. Contraception: we can help women choose the most appropriate form of contraception for their individual needs and preferences, such as birth control pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), or sterilization procedures.
  5. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs): we diagnose and treat a range of STIs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, and human papillomavirus (HPV).
  6. Gynecologic cancers: we screen for gynecologic cancers, such as cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancer.
  7. Infertility: we diagnose and treat any underlying conditions that may be preventing pregnancy.

Endometriosis is a medical condition that affects millions of women worldwide. In fact, it affects approximately 1 in 10 women of reproductive age and despite it being a common condition, it often goes undiagnosed for many years, with the average time to diagnosis being around 7 years. 

The symptoms of endometriosis can vary widely, but may include pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during sex, infertility, and bowel or bladder problems. It also can have a significant impact on a woman’s quality of life, including her ability to work, socialize, and have children. While there is no cure for this condition, with proper treatment and management, many women are able to live full and active lives.

These may include for example, an ultrasound scan, blood tests, laparoscopy (looking inside the abdomen) / hysteroscopy (looking inside the womb).
